Government of Sharjah launches world-class eServices portal using Live Forms with Oracle

Business Situation

The eServices Portal project is an Oracle portal implementation that includes many online services, secure online payment, and integration with back end applications, for use by business organizations within Sharjah State.

Each of these services contains complex workflows and online forms with large amounts of data & business rules that must orchestrate with other services through Oracle SOA Suite. In addition, the forms must simultaneously be available in English as well as Arabic.

Challenges

The client wanted regular (less-technical) users to be able to create relatively complex e-forms.
The forms needed to work in English as well as Arabic, a right-to-left language.
The eServices portal was built using Oracle SOA Suite; hence easy integration with Oracle was a must.
Hand-building complex, multi-language enabled e-forms with business rules was too complicated and expensive.
